US Condemns Deadly Kaduna Attack, Urges Action on Violence

The United States condemned the attack on July 26 in Naridon village, Kauru Local Government Area, Kaduna State, which resulted in the deaths of at least 30 individuals, including eight children. The State Department’s Bureau of African Affairs expressed condolences to the victims' families and urged the Nigerian government to address ongoing violence against Christians in the Middle Belt.

The attack, which occurred around 11 PM, involved gunmen who indiscriminately shot residents and set fire to houses and shops. Dogon Rana, the Secretary to the Village Head, confirmed the death toll and reported that one family lost five children.

Another resident alleged that 22 members of the Rana family were killed during the three-hour assault, which occurred near security operatives who did not intervene. Governor Uba Sani condemned the killings and directed security agencies to pursue the attackers.

Political figures, including Usman Bawa and Atiku Abubakar, criticized the Federal Government's failure to protect citizens and called for a reevaluation of the country's security measures.
