NEDC Establishes Mega Schools to Boost Education in Adamawa

The North East Development Commission (NEDC) is implementing an initiative to establish mega schools across the three senatorial districts of Adamawa State, aimed at bridging the educational gap between rural and urban children. Alhaji Khalifa Lawan, the Adamawa State Coordinator of the NEDC, stated that education is the fourth pillar among the commission's 11 development pillars.

The initiative focuses on rebuilding educational facilities damaged by conflict in the North-East region. Modern schools are being constructed in Guyuk, Song, and Mubi South, equipped with classrooms, administrative offices, staff quarters, and utilities like solar power and boreholes.

The design of these mega schools addresses attendance issues by providing necessary amenities for both students and staff. Lawan emphasized the importance of quality education for community development and urged local residents to protect these facilities for future generations.
