U.S. E-2 Visa Eligibility: African Countries Listed

The U.S. government has published an official list of countries eligible for the E-2 treaty investor visa, which permits citizens of these nations to enter and work in the United States based on a significant investment. Eligibility is contingent upon the existence of a qualifying bilateral investment or commerce treaty with the U.S.

The list includes ten African countries: Cameroon (treaty effective April 6, 1989), Congo (Brazzaville) (August 13, 1994), Congo (Kinshasa) (July 28, 1989), Egypt (June 27, 1992), Ethiopia (October 8, 1953), Liberia (November 21, 1939), Morocco (May 29, 1991), Senegal (October 25, 1990), Togo (February 5, 1967), and Tunisia (February 7, 1993). The E-2 visa is designed to facilitate investment and economic activity in the U.S. by foreign nationals from treaty countries.
