U.S. Lists 427 West Africans for Deportation with Charges

The U.S. government has published an updated list of 427 individuals from West Africa who are set for deportation, including their names, photographs, and the criminal charges against them. Nigeria has the largest representation with 134 individuals, followed by Liberia with 111 and Ghana with 44.

The offenses range widely, including serious charges such as sexual exploitation of a minor, armed robbery, fraud, and money laundering. Notable cases include Mawuli Missiadan from Buckeye, Arizona, charged with sexual exploitation of a minor, and Koffi Bassowou from Charlotte, North Carolina, facing offenses against a child.

Other individuals from Ghana include Success Bounte, arrested in Newark for identity theft and robbery, and Charles Amofa, charged with kidnapping in Hagerstown, Maryland. The list also includes individuals from Gabon facing money laundering charges.

Despite previous measures under President Donald Trump's administration, U.S. law recognizes several categories of immigrants who should not be subject to deportation.
