US Report Confirms Atiku's Claims on Tinubu's Fiscal Issues

A recent report from the United States Department of State has vindicated Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former Vice President, regarding his criticisms of Bola Tinubu's administration's fiscal transparency. The Atiku Media Office released a statement on Thursday, citing the report's findings that the Tinubu-led government failed to adequately disclose public revenues and expenditures.

The report noted that while the government made its enacted budget accessible, it did not publish its executive budget proposal in a timely manner. Furthermore, it highlighted discrepancies between actual revenues and expenditures compared to the enacted budget.

The report also criticized the Office of the Auditor-General for not meeting international standards of independence. Atiku Abubakar stated that without transparency, Nigeria cannot attract investment or combat corruption, emphasizing that fiscal transparency is essential for good governance and public trust.
