U.S. Secret Service Investigates Shooting at Dinner Venue

The U.S. Secret Service has confirmed the commencement of an investigation into a shooting incident that took place in Washington D.C. during the annual White House Correspondents' Dinner, held at the Washington Hilton.

The shooting reportedly occurred close to the main magnetometer checkpoint where guests were being screened. Anthony Guglielmi, the Chief of Communications for the Secret Service, disclosed that the agency is collaborating with the Metropolitan Police Department to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The shooting triggered a swift response from security personnel and law enforcement officials present at the scene. Fortunately, individuals under the protection of the Secret Service, including the President and First Lady, were unharmed.
