US Tariffs Cause N940.98 Billion Drop in Nigeria's Exports to America

Nigeria's export unit state has sharply declined by N940.98 billion in the first nine months of 2025, attributed to tougher market conditions and US tariffs impacting Nigerian shipments. The data from the Nation Bureau of Statistics (NBS) shows a significant drop in export value from N4.59 trillion in the corresponding period of 2024 to N3.65 trillion in 2025.

The implementation of reciprocal tariff policies by US President Donald Trump has contributed to the decline in Nigeria's overall export earnings to the US market.
