WHO Debunks Link Between Paracetamol and Autism in Pregnant Women

The World Health Organization (WHO) clarified that there is currently no conclusive scientific evidence linking the use of paracetamol by pregnant women to autism spectrum disorder (ASD). WHO emphasized that extensive research over the past decade has not established a consistent association between acetaminophen use during pregnancy and autism.

The organization advised pregnant women to follow their healthcare provider's guidance on medication use, particularly in the first trimester, and reiterated that vaccines do not cause autism. WHO highlighted that the original study suggesting a link between acetaminophen and autism was flawed and discredited, with independent experts repeatedly confirming that thiomersal in vaccines does not cause autism.
