JAMB Confirms No Increase in UTME Registration Fees

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially stated that the registration fees for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will not increase. According to JAMB's spokesperson, Dr.

Fabian Benjamin, the fees will remain at ₦7,200 for candidates not opting for the mock examination and ₦8,700 for those who do. This clarification was made on Friday, countering claims of a fee hike that were described as false and misleading.

JAMB emphasized that the registration fees have remained unchanged since 2019, following a reduction approved by the Federal Executive Council in 2018, which lowered the application fee from ₦5,000 to ₦3,500. Despite rising operational costs, JAMB will maintain the current fee structure without any increases.
