JAMB Confirms No Increase in UTME Registration Fees

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) issued a statement on Friday, urging parents and candidates to disregard misleading reports circulating on social media regarding an increase in registration fees for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). JAMB's spokesman, Fabian Benjamin, emphasized that the registration fees have not changed since 2019, when the Federal Executive Council approved a reduction from ₦5,000 to ₦3,500.

The current fee structure includes ₦5,700 for UTME without a mock exam, ₦7,200 for UTME with a mock exam, and ₦8,700 for the breakdown of application fees. The breakdown includes ₦3,500 for the application fee, ₦1,000 for CBT center registration service charge, ₦700 for CBT center UTME service charge, ₦1,500 for bank charges, and ₦500 for the CBT mock UTME center charge.

JAMB reiterated its commitment to transparency and urged candidates to report any overcharging by centers to facilitate immediate disciplinary action.
