Uzodimma Approves ₦104,000 Minimum Wage For Imo Civil Servants

Governor Uzodimma of Imo State has approved a ₦104,000 minimum wage for civil servants, following a meeting with labour union leaders. The wage adjustment will raise the minimum salary for workers in various categories.

Uzodimma cited the economic hardships faced by workers due to factors like insecurity, the pandemic, and fuel subsidy removal as reasons for the increase. He highlighted the state's improved Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and reduced debt profile, emphasizing transparency in resource allocation.

The governor also announced the commencement of payment for the last batch of gratuity owed to pensioners. Labour union leaders praised the wage increase as a significant victory for Imo workers and pledged to reciprocate with diligent service.

Governor Uzodimma urged unity among workers and emphasized the importance of ethical practices and avoiding redundancy.
