Hope Uzodimma, the Governor of Imo State, has officially announced his candidacy for the Imo West Senate seat, representing the All Progressives Congress (APC). His declaration was made on a Sunday via social media.

Uzodimma described himself as the consensus candidate for the senatorial seat, emphasizing his commitment to serving the people of the Imo West Senatorial District and contributing to the area's development. He acknowledged the presence of other aspirants, including former Imo State Governor Rochas Okorocha and current Senator Osita Izunaso, who had previously purchased nomination forms.

Uzodimma's aspiration is inspired by a desire to consolidate gains made under President Bola Tinubu's administration, which he refers to as the "Renewed Hope" agenda. He aims to ensure that the Imo West Senatorial seat remains with the APC and is loyal to the party's candidates.
