Uzodimma Wins APC Ticket, Defeats Okorocha in Primaries

In the recent APC primaries held across 12 local government areas in Imo State, Hope Uzodimma emerged victorious, clinching the party's ticket for the Imo West senatorial district. Uzodimma defeated former governor Rochas Okorocha, garnering 1,098 votes.

The results were officially declared by William Kayoda, the chairman of the Imo APC National Assembly Primary Election Committee. Uzodimma received a total of 230,464 valid votes, satisfying the requirements set by the party's constitution and relevant laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

In the Imo North senatorial district primaries, Patrick Ndubueze was declared the winner with 108,862 votes, defeating Ifeanyi Araraume, who received 79 votes. Uzodimma expressed confidence in the APC's strength to emerge victorious in the 2027 general elections, describing the primaries as peaceful and transparent, with commendations from local party members for their orderly conduct throughout the process.
