Venezuela has established a high-power commission led by interim President Sundai Rodriguez to negotiate the release of ousted former President Nicolas Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, who were captured by US forces. The move comes less than 48 hours after Maduro's arrest and expected transfer to New York to face terrorism and drug trafficking charges.

Rodriguez, along with Foreign Minister Yvan Gil and Information Minister Freddy Nanez, emphasized the need for mutual respect and collaboration with the US. Defense Minister Vladimir Padrino Lopez urged calm and a return to normalcy across the country.
