Venus and Serena Williams Reunite for US Open Doubles

Venus and Serena Williams have received a wildcard entry to compete together in the women's doubles at the US Open for the first time in four years. The sisters last teamed up during the previous season's US Open, where Serena Williams concluded her tennis career after her final match.

Although they have played together since then, they have not participated in a Grand Slam event as a duo. Their most recent competition was at the Cincinnati Open, where they lost to Marta Kostyuk and Peyton Stearns in three sets.

Venus, aged 44, has made a return to competitive tennis, playing mixed doubles with Carlos Alcaraz at the current US Open, where they won their opening match but were eliminated in the quarter-finals. In her last singles appearance at Wimbledon, Venus faced defeat against Australia's Maya Joint and was unable to compete in the doubles tournament due to knee issues, which prevented her from partnering with her sister.
