Okpala Urges Youth to Leverage Attention Capital for Wealth

Mr. Nonso Okpala, the Chief Executive Officer of VFD Group, called on young Nigerians to embrace innovative entrepreneurship and emerging digital opportunities to create sustainable wealth.

He made this appeal during the 2026 pre-conference symposium at the Department of Accountancy, Faculty of Management Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, with the theme "Vision and Legacy: Inspiring Africa's Next Generation of Business Owners." Okpala stressed the significance of attention capital in today's economy, urging young entrepreneurs to position themselves advantageously in Nigeria's large and growing population. He noted that successful identification of needs and building scalable solutions can transform even small products into major businesses.

Okpala highlighted the role of technology, particularly artificial intelligence, in accelerating innovation and reducing the time required to build products and services. He warned that many ventures fail due to weak structures and a lack of institutional support.

The symposium aimed to foster discussions on entrepreneurship, sustainable business leadership, and economic transformation in Africa.
