Victor Osimhen, a 26-year-old forward for Galatasaray, was spotted at a restaurant in Lagos wearing his team's match jersey. This sighting occurred shortly after he withdrew from Nigeria's squad for the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers due to a groin injury sustained during Galatasaray's victory over Istanbul Basaksehir.

Osimhen's withdrawal was announced on the same day his teammates began training in Uyo. His absence presents a challenge for head coach Eric Chelle, who must now adjust the Super Eagles' attacking strategy, traditionally centered around Osimhen, Akor Adams, and Lookman from Atletico Madrid.
