Sunday Afolabi Opens Up on Financial Hardships

Nollywood actor Sunday Afolabi shared his financial struggles during an appearance on actress Biola Adebayo's talk show. He revealed that a lack of acting jobs forced him to sell his Nissan Quest for N180,000 and purchase a used motorcycle.

Afolabi relocated to Badagry to build a home, which negatively impacted his acting career. He expressed that he was not prepared to beg for food and preferred to take on any legitimate job.

Despite venturing into photography, he struggled to find work, and his camera eventually stopped functioning. Afolabi became emotional while discussing the hardships faced by his wife and children, recalling an encounter with a man who recognized him as a television actor and questioned his struggles.

He began his career in Lagos in 1970 with Adelove as a drummer and later joined NTA, becoming known for roles in productions like Owo Blow and Tales by Moonlight.
