Lagos Shuts Oshodi Market After Attack on Sanitation Officers

The decision was communicated by Tokunbo Wahab, the Lagos State Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources. The violent resistance from traders included an alleged attack on enforcement officers, which obstructed their duties.

The closure aims to prevent further incidents, including the arrest of individuals involved in the attack, as well as to safeguard the agency's operational vehicles that were vandalized during the enforcement operation. The announcement did not specify when the market would reopen.
