Wike Visits PDP National Secretariat Amid Leadership Crisis

On Friday morning, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, visited the national secretariat of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) located at Wadata Plaza in Abuja. This visit comes in the wake of a prolonged leadership crisis within the PDP, which escalated to the point where the party's headquarters was sealed by the Nigeria Police on November 18.

The sealing was a result of clashes between factions within the party, specifically between a faction led by Wike and another led by Sam Anyanwu. Following the unsealing of the headquarters, Wike's visit is seen as a significant move to address the internal issues within the party.

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the PDP has warned against any actions that could lead to violence or disruption, commending the Nigeria Police for their professional handling of the situation and their commitment to upholding the rule of law.
