Kebbi Ethnic Clash Claims 15 Lives, Including Village Head

In a violent clash in Lafagu Village, Bagudo local government area of Kebbi State, 15 people, including traditional ruler Alhaji Saidu Mujeli, were killed. The attack occurred at night when a large group of Kambari allegedly retaliated against the Fulani, following an earlier incident where two individuals from Lagos were attacked by the Fulani, who accused them of theft and murder.

Malam Idris Saidu, the victim's eldest son, reported that the attackers burned down his father's house. Kebbi State Police Commissioner Umar Muhammad Hadejia confirmed the incident, stating that six suspects have been arrested in connection with the killings.

He noted that security personnel have been deployed to restore peace in the area. Governor Nasir Idris condemned the incident and expressed condolences to the families of the victims, emphasizing the need to prevent further violence.
