Lagos Police Confirm Viral Video of Armed Men is Old

The Lagos State Police Command has clarified that a viral video depicting armed Fulani men allegedly found with ammunition in Ikorodu is three years old and does not represent the current security situation in the area. In a statement issued on Saturday, Public Relations Officer Abimbola Adebisi emphasized that the recirculation of this outdated video is misleading and could create unnecessary panic and fear among the public.

The command urged residents and social media users to disregard the video and avoid sharing unverified information that could disturb public peace. Additionally, the Lagos State Police Command, under the direction of Commissioner Tijani Fatai, is enhancing police presence and operations in strategic locations across the state to ensure the safety of lives and property.

The police also warned individuals involved in spreading false information that they could face investigation and prosecution under the law.
