Visa Agent Arraigned for UK Visa Forgery in Lagos

Adediwura Adesina Stanlei, a visa agent, was arraigned by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) at the Lagos State High Court in Ikeja for allegedly conspiring to forge documents to obtain a visa for the United Kingdom. Alongside two accomplices, Olufemi Samuel Adewunmi and Oluwayemi Oyinkan, Stanlei is accused of creating false documents, including a corporate payslip and bank statement purportedly issued by United Bank for Africa (UBA), with the intent to deceive the UK Home Office.

The prosecution, led by Yvonn William Mbata, Roselin Ez, and Oluwayemisi Pereira, filed 20 counts against Stanlei, who pleaded not guilty. His lawyer, Olabamp, submitted a bail application, which the ICPC opposed, citing a flight risk due to previous instances of absconding.

Justice Ismail Ijelu granted bail at N10 million with stringent conditions, including the deposit of his international passport and a prohibition on international travel pending trial. The case has been adjourned for the commencement of the trial.
