Adamu to Contest Nasarawa Governorship, Stays in APC

Mohammed Adamu, the former Inspector General of Police, has publicly declared his intention to stay within the All Progressives Congress (APC) and run for the governorship of Nasarawa State in the 2027 elections. This announcement comes despite the backing of Governor Abdullahi Sule for Senator Aliyu Wadada as the preferred candidate for the APC.

Adamu urged his supporters to disregard any suggestions that he would abandon the APC due to Wadada's endorsement. He made this declaration in a speech delivered in Hausa, reaffirming his commitment to the party and his gubernatorial aspirations.

The political landscape in Nasarawa is currently influenced by the dynamics between these key figures, with Governor Sule and President Bola Tinubu also playing significant roles in the party's direction and candidate selection for the upcoming elections.
