WAEC Releases 2026 WASSCE Timetable and Exam Dates

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the timetable for the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), which will commence on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, and conclude on Friday, June 19, 2026. The examination will include practical sessions for selected subjects, with the first paper covering Food and Nutrition and Home Management.

WAEC emphasizes that the WASSCE is a critical academic requirement for secondary school students seeking admission into tertiary institutions, covering core subjects such as English Language and Mathematics, alongside a broad range of elective subjects across science, arts, humanities, and vocational technical disciplines. The exams will be conducted simultaneously in WAEC member countries, including Nigeria, Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Gambia.

Additionally, WAEC recently reported that a total of 10,523 candidates registered for the exams, reflecting an 11.49% increase from the previous year, with 10,480 candidates sitting for the examination across 166 centers nationwide.
