Super Falcons Aim for Victory Against Egypt in WAFCON

Justine Madugu, the head coach of the Super Falcons, stated that Nigeria will strive for victory against Egypt in their final Group C match at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, scheduled for Wednesday at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat. A win is crucial for Nigeria to secure a place in the quarter-finals.

Madugu emphasized that the team has analyzed various qualification scenarios but prefers to control their fate rather than depend on other match results. Nigeria began their title defense with a 3-2 loss to Malawi but rebounded with a 1-0 victory over Zambia, despite playing with 10 players for most of that match.

Currently, Malawi leads Group C with six points, while Nigeria and Zambia each have three points. To advance to the knockout stage, the Super Falcons must defeat Egypt; a draw would only suffice if Zambia does not win against Malawi, and a loss would eliminate Nigeria from the tournament.
