WAFCON: Shehu Sani Reacts As Super Falcons Captain Claims Tinubu Yet to Fulfill $100K Reward

Former Kaduna Senator Shehu Sani expressed concern after Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade revealed in an interview that she is yet to receive the $100,000 reward promised by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The reward was offered following the team's victory at the 2025 Women Africa Cup Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco, where Tinubu also conferred national honors and gifted an apartment to the players and technical crew.

Ajibade expressed frustration over the delay in payment, stating that she had been informed that the money had already been allocated. Sani described the delay as shocking and mentally stressful, urging the Tinubu government to fulfill its pledge.

This comes after Tinubu also rewarded the Tigress team for winning the 2025 FIBA Women Afrobasket.
