Ucheibe Promises Super Falcons Will Bounce Back vs Zambia

Super Falcons midfielder Christy Ucheibe has promised that the team will strive to perform at their best against Zambia in their upcoming match, aiming to advance past the group stage of the CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). This statement follows Nigeria's unexpected 3-2 defeat to Malawi in their Group C opener on Tuesday night at Al Madina Stadium in Rabat.

Ucheibe remarked on the nature of football, stating, “Nothing went wrong; both teams played very well,” and emphasized the need to bounce back after a loss. Malawi's victory was marked by three second-half goals from Temwa Chawinga and Tabita Chawinga, while Nigeria managed to score through a penalty by Rasheedat Ajibade and a late goal from Uchenna Kanu.

As a result of this defeat, Nigeria currently sits in third position in Group C with zero points and a minus one goal difference. The Super Falcons' next match is scheduled against Zambia on Saturday.
