Former Super Eagles defender Ifeanyi Udeze is optimistic about the Super Falcons' chances of recovery after their disappointing start at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON). The Super Falcons suffered a 3-2 defeat to the debutant Scorchers of Malawi, marking Nigeria's first loss to a debutant in WAFCON finals history.

To have any chance of advancing to the knockout stage, the Super Falcons must secure a victory against the Copper Queens of Zambia in their next Group C match. Zambia currently leads the group on goal difference after a dominant 6-0 win over the Cleopatras of Egypt in their opening game.
