Flying Eagles Coach Maikaba Urges Team to Excel in WAFU

Abdu Maikaba, the head coach of the Flying Eagles, stated that his team must put in significant effort to secure a ticket for the 2027 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations during the WAFU B U-20 Championship. This sub-regional tournament will serve as a qualifier for the tournament, which will be hosted by Côte d'Ivoire.

Participating countries include Ghana, Burkina Faso, Benin Republic, Togo, and Niger Republic. Maikaba expressed confidence in his squad's potential talent but acknowledged that talent alone would not guarantee success.

He emphasized the importance of discipline, hard work, and mental strength in competing against other West African youth teams. The Flying Eagles have a strong history in the tournament, having won the last two editions, including a victory against Ghana in the final two years ago in Lomé, Togo.
