Water Resources Ministry Reaffirms ACReSAL Commitment

During a mid-term review meeting held in Kaduna State, Prof. Joseph Terlumun Utsev, the Minister of Water Resources, reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to the successful implementation of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) project. As co-chairman of the steering committee, he highlighted the critical timing of the review, which provides stakeholders an opportunity to assess progress, identify operational challenges, and strengthen collaboration across sectors.

The meeting also featured Malam Balarab Abba, chairman of the steering committee, who acknowledged the project's positive impact on communities nationwide and called for state legislation to ensure its sustainability post-closure. The meeting included representatives from the Kaduna State government, including Senator Uba Sani and Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi, as well as Dr. Joi Agen, the World Bank technical team leader, emphasizing the project's importance in enhancing food security and water management systems.
