Bandit Kingpin Claims AK-47 Proficiency in Katsina

In a recent public address in Dutsenma LGA, Katsina State, a bandit kingpin boasted about his group's proficiency in handling AK-47 rifles, despite their lack of formal education. The kingpin, surrounded by supporters, criticized the government for failing to honor previous agreements made during negotiations, particularly concerning the release of detained members across several states, including Katsina, Kano, and Abuja.

He expressed frustration over the government's inability to fulfill promises made during dialogues, stating that many individuals remain detained without release. The crowd cheered as he highlighted the disparity between educated individuals and his group, asserting that they could operate weapons effectively without formal schooling.

He warned that the failure to maintain dialogue would lead to a withdrawal of fighters, which could result in increased violence and instability. The kingpin expressed a willingness to engage in future discussions if previous agreements were respected.
