Buratai: Insurgency Not Overwhelming Nigerian Military

Tukur Yusuf Buratai, the former Chief of Army Staff of the Nigerian Army, addressed the ongoing insurgency in North East Nigeria, asserting that it is not overwhelming military troops. In an interview on the political program "Politics Today" on Channels Television, Buratai acknowledged the existence of operational challenges, particularly citing manpower shortages and the necessity for advanced equipment.

He emphasized that the military has made improvements by deploying modern tools but highlighted the need for additional operational support systems. Buratai pointed out that the vast landmass of North East Nigeria contributes to the dispersal of troops, complicating military operations.
