Sanwo-Olu Reflects on Tinubu's 2023 Election Defeat

During a Ramadan lecture organized by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu addressed the party's disappointment regarding Bola Tinubu's defeat in the 2023 presidential election. He described the outcome as painful and expressed that the party is still ashamed of it.

Sanwo-Olu, alongside his Chief of Staff Tayo Ayinde, emphasized the need for the party to look ahead to the 2027 elections. He called on party members to take early steps towards the next electoral cycle, including ensuring they register and collect their Permanent Voter Cards.

Sanwo-Olu stressed the importance of active participation in the party's future success and urged members to prepare adequately to achieve better results in the next general elections. He linked the future of the party and the current federal administration's chances of Bola Tinubu returning for a second term to the party's ability to secure the presidential mandate.
