PDP's Turaki Faction Visits ADC Leaders Amid Tensions

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State articulated the reasons behind the solidarity visit by Taminu Turaki's faction of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the leadership of the African Democratic Congress (ADC). This visit occurred in the context of ongoing political developments, including protests and court actions, which have heightened political tensions in Nigeria.

During a meeting with journalists, Makinde emphasized the importance of solidarity in the current political landscape. The visit to the ADC leadership was part of a broader strategy to unify opposition forces, with notable figures present, including David Mark, former Attorney General Abubakar Malami, and former governors Rotimi Amaechi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

The ADC had recently staged a protest at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Abuja, indicating the rising political tension and the need for a united front among opposition parties.
