AKTH in Crisis: ICU Patients at Risk as KEDCO Cuts Power Supply

Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) in Kano faces a critical situation as Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) disconnected its power supply over unpaid bills. The hospital management fears that many ICU patients may die due to the lack of electricity for life support equipment.

Despite AKTH's appeals for reconnection, KEDCO has not responded positively. AKTH emphasizes its regular payment of bills and reliance on internally generated revenue to procure diesel for power generation.
