UEFA has demanded the resignation of FIFA President Gianni Infantino following his cancellation of a £3.1 billion deal to sell stakes in the World Cup to private investors led by Josh Kushner, a relative of former US President Donald Trump. Infantino's plans collapsed amid widespread backlash, prompting him to reverse his decision.

In a statement released on Saturday morning, UEFA declared a loss of confidence in Infantino, criticizing the secretive nature of the deal and the involvement of "faceless individuals" with dubious benefits to the sport.
