We Must Move From Theoretical To Solutions-Driven – Shehu

Shehu Liberty, the dean of the Management Sciences faculty at the University of Maiduguri, emphasized the need for a shift from theoretical to solutions-driven approaches in addressing challenges for accelerated development and economic sustainability in Nigeria. Liberty spoke at the faculty's maiden Public Lecture on Leadership, Institutions, Opportunities, and the Role of Management Sciences in Civic and Economic Renewal.

He stressed the importance of leaders adopting practical policies to provide solutions to emerging challenges. The event, which featured Umar Buba Bindir as the Guest Speaker, highlighted the role of academic institutions in driving development through research and collaboration with the political class.

Bindir urged academics to move beyond academic papers and provide practical solutions to the growing challenges facing society. The lecture aimed to bridge the gap between academia and governance in Nigeria to ensure research is effectively utilized for national development.
