We received over 15,000 applications for 3000 jobs in Akwa Ibom – Gov Eno

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State disclosed that they received over 15,000 applications for 3,000 job positions in the state civil service. The government had announced plans to recruit 3,000 civil servants, with 1,000 positions in teaching, health, and core civil service.

This recruitment drive followed the discovery of 3,000 ghost workers during a verification exercise. The governor assured transparency in the recruitment process, emphasizing merit-based selection with instant test results.

Previous recruitment exercises in the state had been criticized for lack of transparency and favoritism. Governor Eno also mentioned inspecting 23 projects across the state, noting the enthusiasm of youth, engineers, artisans, and even young female project leaders.

He encouraged a spirit of hard work among the youth.
