Labour Party Leader Regrets Peter Obi's Departure, Plans Reconciliation Efforts

Alex Otti, a key figure in the Labour Party, revealed details of his meeting with the party's National Executive Committee (NEC) in Abuja. The meeting focused on addressing internal party affairs and strategizing for the future following recent developments.

Otti disclosed plans to commence preparations for party congresses and a national convention, scheduled for March. He also mentioned the revalidation of party memberships and the registration of new members nationwide.

Otti expressed regret over Peter Obi's departure from the party and acknowledged the loss of members, including those who defected. Despite these challenges, Otti emphasized the party's strength and unity.

The NEC resolved to establish a reconciliation committee to address grievances and bring back aggrieved members. Otti assured that the party's doors remain open for those willing to return.

Additionally, Otti announced the party's decision not to participate in the upcoming Federal Capital Territory council elections. He expressed confidence in the Labour Party's resilience and unity, focusing on rebuilding and positioning the party as a formidable political force.
