ADC Refuses Blackmail on 2027 Presidential Ticket Zoning

Bolaji Abdullahi, the spokesperson for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), addressed speculation surrounding the party's approach to zoning its presidential ticket for the upcoming 2027 elections. He firmly stated that the ADC will not be blackmailed into making premature decisions regarding this matter.

Abdullahi clarified that the party has not yet decided on zoning and will make a decision at the appropriate time. His remarks came in the context of recent developments where the All Progressives Congress (APC) adopted Bola Tinubu as its consensus candidate, which has drawn criticism.

Abdullahi refuted claims that the ADC is merely a vehicle for former Vice President Atiku Abubakar's presidential ambitions, asserting that the party remains open and does not have a preferred candidate for the 2027 polls. He also accused President Tinubu of stifling the opposition amid a wave of defections from the APC.
