ADC Collaborates with Accord to Defeat APC in Osun

Bolaji Abdullahi, the National Publicity Secretary of the ADC, revealed on Trust TV that the party collaborated with the Accord Party to thwart the APC's chances in the Osun gubernatorial election. The ADC's candidate, Najeem Salaam, garnered 17,180 votes, while the incumbent governor and Accord candidate, Ademola Adeleke, won the election with 511,067 votes, defeating Bola Oyebamiji of the APC, who received 444,815 votes.

Abdullahi explained that the ADC recognized the risk of vote division among opposition parties, which could benefit the APC. He emphasized that the ADC did not view Salaam's performance as a failure, as their primary goal was to prevent the APC from regaining power.

Abdullahi noted that the ADC's cooperation with the Accord Party was a strategic decision supported by the party leadership. He expressed optimism that such collaboration could lead to success against the ruling APC in future elections, specifically the 2027 presidential election, while attributing the victory to the people of Osun.
