Nigeria's First Lady Remi Tinubu Addresses Economic Challenges and Security Measures in Interview

Nigeria's First Lady and Senator, Remi Tinubu, spoke about the economic challenges inherited from previous administrations during an interview with Fox News. She emphasized the government's efforts to implement reforms to stabilize the economy, citing gains such as local refining of petroleum products and exchange rate stabilization.

Tinubu also addressed security issues, revealing the declaration of a state of emergency in November 2025, leading to the recruitment of 50,000 additional police officers, 24,000 armed soldiers, and 10,000 forest guards. She disclosed the redeployment of over 11,000 police officers from VIP protection duties to security hotspots in states like Plateau, Benue, and Taraba.

Tinubu stressed the government's pursuit of partnerships to aid Nigeria's development.
