NNPP Declines to Join ADC with Kwankwaso's Exit

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has officially stated that it will not be joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC) alongside Rabiu Kwankwaso, who recently resigned from NNPP to pursue a presidential candidacy in the 2023 elections. Boniface Aniebonam, the founder of NNPP, made this announcement on Sunday, clarifying that the party will not follow Kwankwaso's lead.

He noted that while some individuals associated with the Kwankwasiyya movement have chosen to follow Kwankwaso to other parties, including the All Progressives Congress (APC), NNPP remains steadfast in its direction. Aniebonam also mentioned that a memo from Ahm Ajuji advised party members to maintain their positions within NNPP.

Furthermore, he indicated that the party has already begun discussions regarding potential candidates for the 2027 presidential elections, emphasizing the importance of a proper internal process for candidate selection. Aniebonam concluded by stating that NNPP is open to collaboration with like-minded parties as they prepare for future elections.
