Kwankwaso Joins ADC, Leaving NNPP for New Political Path

Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State and a 2023 presidential candidate, has officially defected from the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to the African Democratic Congress (ADC). The ADC's spokesman, Bolaji Abdullahi, stated that Kwankwaso's move reflects the growing public sentiment in Nigeria, which demands leadership capable of addressing daily challenges and taking responsibility for national development.

The ADC emphasized Kwankwaso's governance experience and grassroots appeal, which they believe will unify and strengthen their efforts to rebuild the country. Kwankwaso reportedly urged members of the political movement to support the nationwide initiative to join the ADC, further enhancing the party's coalition expansion.

The event was attended by significant figures within the party, including national chairman David Mark and national secretary Rauf Aregbesola, alongside prominent political figures such as Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rotimi Amaechi, Liyel Imoke, and Aminu Tambuwal. Abdullahi noted that Kwankwaso's decision resonates with Nigerians who feel the need for effective leadership to tackle their challenges.
