Governor Umo Eno Reports Major Infrastructure Progress

On September 24, during a state broadcast to commemorate the 39th anniversary of Akwa Ibom State, Governor Pastor Umo Eno announced that his administration has executed, commissioned, or continued work on over 1,500 kilometers of roads and 43 bridges since he took office in May 2023. He emphasized the importance of these infrastructure projects in connecting rural communities to urban centers and enhancing opportunities for various stakeholders, including farmers and students.

Eno also highlighted his administration's commitment to free and compulsory education, with ₦1.69 billion allocated for student bursaries and the recruitment of 3,000 teachers. Additionally, he fulfilled a scholarship promise to Uwakmfon Unwana Jacob, granting ₦30 million for Software Engineering studies at Nile University.

In healthcare, 258,000 residents are enrolled in a health insurance scheme, and investments are being made in primary healthcare facilities. The governor also reported that 1,700 farmers received grants under an agricultural initiative.
