Segun Aina Appointed New JAMB Registrar by Tinubu

Professor Is-haq Oloyede officially handed over the position of Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) to Professor Segun Aina on Friday morning. This transition occurred following the expiration of Oloyede’s two-term tenure on July 31, 2026, which lasted a decade and was characterized by significant reforms, technological advancements, and enhanced transparency in examinations and admissions.

Professor Aina, appointed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on May 21, 2026, is noted for being JAMB’s youngest registrar at the age of 39. He is a Professor of Computer Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, and has a PhD in Digital Signal Processing from Loughborough University, UK.

Oloyede expressed confidence in Aina's ability to fulfill his mandate and reflected on his own tenure, highlighting achievements such as a 30% reduction in the cost of the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination application and a commitment to institutional discipline and staff welfare.
