APC Chieftain Yusuf Critiques Tinubu's ₦68 Trillion Budget

Abubakar Yusuf, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has publicly criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's proposed budget for 2026, which amounts to ₦68.32 trillion. Yusuf expressed concerns regarding the realism of the budget, particularly highlighting the government's borrowing practices that he claims are almost equal to the budget's share.

He articulated his views during a discussion on Channels Television's Sunday Politics, where he questioned the government's ability to fund the budget effectively. The proposed budget includes allocations such as ₦4.799 trillion for statutory transfers, ₦15.8 trillion for debt servicing, ₦15.4 trillion for recurrent expenditure, and ₦32.2 trillion for capital expenditure.

Yusuf's remarks reflect a broader concern about fiscal responsibility and the sustainability of Nigeria's economic policies under the current administration.
