"What Will Happen to PDP if Tinubu Sacks Wike": Top Ex-Gov Opens Up

Former Jigawa governor and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, Sule Lamido, raised concerns about the impact of a potential sacking of FCT minister, Wike, by President Bola Tinubu on the opposition party. Lamido highlighted Wike's influence and claimed that the PDP would benefit from a fresh perspective if the minister were removed.

He emphasized the importance of adhering to the party's constitution and avoiding personal interests in governance. Lamido also dismissed rumors linking him to a possible presidential ticket nomination in the 2027 election, stating that the authenticity of such claims was uncertain.

While acknowledging the threat of an opposition coalition against the ruling APC, he cautioned that the coalition's success in the upcoming election would depend on selecting the right presidential candidate. Lamido criticized the current state of the PDP, urging for a return to constitutional principles and the imposition of sanctions on those who violate party rules.
