Whitemoney Clarifies Sexual Orientation and Sets Boundaries

Hazel Oyeze Onou, known as Whitemoney, the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 6, publicly addressed his sexual orientation after receiving romantic advances from a male admirer via direct messages. In a social media video, he shared screenshots of flirty messages from a male user who referred to him as “aggressively handsome” and “papi.” Whitemoney expressed irritation over these messages, clarifying that his choice to keep his romantic life private should not be misconstrued.

He stated, “Because you don’t see me with ladies doesn’t mean I’m gay,” affirming his strict preference for women and his intention to maintain privacy in his personal relationships. Following online reactions, he issued a follow-up statement to clarify that his comments were about setting personal boundaries, not expressing hatred.

He declared, “I am a straight African man,” and warned admirers against sending romantic advances, stating he would publicly expose anyone who does so in the future.
